  4. Wow: thanks for putting this book out there! Having just finished it, my thoughts are still disorganized, so I’ll just sum it up by saying that among other things, it’s an example of what I’d like to be able to do—set a reader down in a world plainly different from our own, without having to load on all sorts of background or justification or details about how every little thing works. Allowing the story, in other words, to be the story, the questions to offer themselves up for consideration, and the mysteries of all sorts continue to be mysteries—letting the reader take the journey alongside the protagonist. Hear, hear!
